First i would like to point out that the word for God is in the strongs as follows;
Plural of H433; gods in the ordinary sense; but specifically used (in the plural thus, especially with the article) of the supreme God; occasionally
applied by way of deference to magistrates; and sometimes as a superlative: - angels, X exceeding, God (gods) (-dess, -ly), X (very) great, judges, X mighty.
i do not believe that there are many Gods but i prefer to believe this is a reference to God the Father, Son, And Holy Spirit, in fact in verse 2 the Spirit of God is mentioned and in John chapter 1 it is clear that the Word (Jesus or yeshua) is present at creation.
Next i would point out that in the beginning God created the heaven and the earth but on the first day God created the light and darkness. i know there are people that believe passionately that all this happened on the same day and i respect and listen to them but i am not convinced that the earth wasn't created then became void and then the creation of light and darkness was the beginning of a new AGE of the planet we inhabit. i don't teach it as dogma only leave the option open until i am convinced one way or the other.
If this (old earth/new creation) were the way it happened it would explain much. For instance Jesus said: Mat 22:30 For in the resurrection they
neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven. Which if i understand correctly means that we will be like the angels in the new creation. If that is so then who is to say that the angels were not once human in a prior creation? What we do know for sure is that there will be a new creation after the current creation ends;
Rev 21:1 And I saw a new heaven and a new earth: for the first heaven and the first earth were passed away; and there was no more sea.
Rev 21:5 And he that sat upon the throne said, Behold, I make all things new. And he said unto me, Write: for these words are true and faithful.
i for one am willing to believe that God is able to have had a harvest before we were around but it is only speculation and i am also willing to discuss it.
1 more thing ;
Gen 1:7 And God made the firmament, and divided the waters which were under
the firmament from the waters which were above the firmament: and it was so. Gen 1:8 And God called the firmament Heaven. And the evening and the morning were the second day.
Many believe, and i am one of them, that there was a canopy of clouds covering the earth, these verses seem to indicate that because the word used
for firmament means the sky. There is a museum near me that you might like to visit on the net, or in person if you ever come to the Dallas/Ft. Worth area it is only about 1 1/2 hours away by car, here is the site:
Here we see the Lord creating the plants, fish , birds, insects, and animals. Notice that God says: "after his kind" which to me means they reproduce essentially the same thing that they are. There is a verse in Psalms that says:
Psa 100:3 Know ye that the LORD he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.
In the theory of evolution if you sum it all up, everything came from a big bang and through a series of random incidents life was formed. Then according to this theory the most clever organisms adapted and mutated, beneficially not randomly, (never mind that EVERY mutation we have observed has been detrimental) until we, as human have emerged as the most advanced species. The logical conclusion of this is that WE MADE OURSELVES and therefore if there is a god, we are it.
There are those that believe evolution is true but believe God started it all and chance took over, i believe that God made it the way He wanted it and when sin occurred the corruption of creation began which is quite the opposite of evolution which necessarily believes things have been getting BETTER, since the beginning. There are many reasons why i believe this but let me include 2 here.
1. For evolution to be true then the creation account in the Bible has to be false and if it is false then who is to say what is true or false in the rest of the book? i choose to believe God even when i don't understand everything He says.
2. Evolution says that these events occurred over millions of years, yet all these systems are interdependent and none could survive very long without the other. For example animals breath oxygen and give off carbon dioxide carbon dioxide, plants breath carbon dioxide and give off oxygen, neither could survive without the other and this supports a fast creation not a millions of years game of chance. By the way evolution has no explanation for the appearance of plants.
Well as you might be able to tell i have some passion on this subject but i believe it is a cornerstone of satan's deception, and as long as it, evolution, stands as the accepted cause for our existence we will have a hard time convincing the western world of the truth of the bible. Consider that any questioning of the theory is met with the same fervent opposition as was present in the middle ages when people said the earth was round and revolved around the sun. Anyone that really studies it honestly realizes that the evidence does not support it, yet any evidence that doesn't support it is suppressed or ignored by the high priests of education and science.
Dan 11:36 And the king shall do according to his will; and he shall exalt himself, and magnify himself above every god, and shall speak marvelous things against the God of gods, and shall prosper till the indignation be accomplished: for that that is determined shall be done.
Dan 11:37 Neither shall he regard the God of his fathers, nor the desire of women, nor regard any god: for he shall magnify himself above all.
Dan 11:38 But in his estate shall he honor the God of forces: and a god whom his fathers knew not shall he honor with gold, and silver, and with precious stones, and pleasant things.
this i believe is describing the antichrist and in my understanding evolution is a cornerstone of his theology and scientists (not true science which is the pursuit of truth) his priesthood, but i will share more on this as we go through the bible. Verses 26-31
Here we see God finishing His creation by creating man. This is an overview of the creation account and the next few chapters add more information to it, a few thoughts on these verses;
(1.) 1:27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them.
God made man in His own image, yet we are not gods. Here is how i understand this, God is Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, we are body, soul, and spirit. Both triune yet one. i won't pretend to comprehend the triune nature of the one God but this helps me understand it a bit.
(2.) 1.28 And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth,
God's first blessing and command to man: Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, i have always found it curious that the word replenish was used instead of to fill which is the first definition of the Hebrew word used here. Replenish hints at filling again rather than filling initionally.
(3). and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Here God turned the authority over all the physical realm over to man with all its benifits and responsibilities. This explanes a LOT of things which i hope to go into much deeper in the future like, why satan decieved Adam and Eve instead of overpowering them (hint.. had he overpowered them he would have been in trouble with God RIGHT AWAY, by decieving them he stole (but they gave which was within their power to do) their authority and it could only be regained BY A MAN who never obeyed satan...Jesus)...Rom 6:16 Know ye not, that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are to whom ye obey; whether of sin unto death, or of obedience unto righteousness?
As we will learn later on Jesus came and reclaimed that authority and ascended to heaven with it HOWEVER he delegates that authority to us according to our abilities, we have much more potential THROUGH HIM, than we know.
(4.) Gen 1:29 And God said, Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed, which is upon the face of all the earth, and every tree, in the which is the fruit of a tree yielding seed; to you it shall be for meat.
God's first dietery instruction which would change later.
(5.) Gen 1:31 And God saw every thing that he had made, and, behold, it was very good. And the evening and the morning were the sixth day.
the only time it says VERY good, in verses 10,12,18,21,25 it just says good, no comment just an observation.
