Luke 10:38-42   Now it came to pass, as they went, that he entered into a certain village: and a certain woman named Martha received him into her house.  And she had a sister called Mary, which also sat at Jesus' feet, and heard his word. But Martha was cumbered about much serving, and came to him, and said, Lord, dost thou not care that my sister hath left me to serve alone? bid her therefore that she help me. And Jesus answered and said unto her, Martha, Martha, thou art careful and troubled about many things: But one thing is needful: and Mary hath chosen that good part, which shall not be taken away from her.
In this life there are times to do the chores and times to let the chores go, i'm sure that Martha in this case was horrified that Mary was letting all these house guests go without showing them the hospitality that was customary. After all the biggest preacher to come along for years for these people had come into their house with all the crew. There must have been a thousand things to do and Martha was going about doing it but Mary sat at Jesus feet and listened to the sermon. Jesus, always seeing with those forever eyes, recognized that the hunger of a soul seeking truth will push everything aside till it is filled, and He came to Mary's defense. There have been periods of my life where nothing else mattered till i got answers at Jesus feet and sometimes it's not without cost, in relationships and otherwise but like Mary, Jesus ensured that my time at His feet wasn't taken away from me.
Do you have questions that nobody seems to be able to answer? Do you get frustrated sometimes that everyone you look to cannot satisfy that need to know? There are questions that can only be answered at His feet and nobody else is going to be given the words you need. You will only find them at Jesus feet and He is waiting for you so He can tell you. Won't you spend some time talking to Him, and be honest, He likes honest. Here is something He told me once that i wrote in my journal.
11/18/99  Memo from god after a dry prayer time; GARY! I would rather have 5 seconds of your heart than 2 hours of your ritual. Whether you are happy, sad, mad, don't understand, afraid, grateful, curious, or whatever else, I would rather know you than hear what you think will please me. If we cannot be honest and open with one another, we cannot have a relationship.
Thank You Father for loving me.
God Bless everyone,
gary
