Matthew 24:29-31
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory. And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Notice it says AFTER the tribulation of those days, then the signs in heaven, then the sign of the coming of the Son, then the trumpet and the gathering.  Some day we will dig in and look for some of the clues in this chapter, the 21st chapter of Luke, the Book of Daniel as well as other books of the prophets, and Revelation to see what we can find but let me tell you this. When i was saved it was because i was afraid of the things that are talked about in these books after seeing the movie "The Late Great Planet Earth". That was 36 or so years ago and i have searched the scriptures off and on since then to make my own "chart" of these days we live in. As time goes by i have learned that if know what they say i can recognize how things might fit into the scriptures as they happen. So i have forgotten about making a chart and just watch and pray as Jesus said in Luke 21:36  Watch ye therefore, and pray always, that ye may be accounted worthy to escape all these things that shall come to pass, and to stand before the Son of man.
 Here is something out of my journal from a year ago; i wanted to know about tomorrow, i wanted to be able to read the bible and know what Daniel and Revelations, as well as the other prophetic passages foretold so i could be prepared for it. Since God Knows my heart and loves me as a Father (which he is), He showed me today. "If you will seek My face" He told me, so in seeking His face , i saw my true nature. Not all at once, or else i would have been discouraged, if not destroyed, but slowly and surely He revealed what was in me that made me fear tomorrow. Now i strive to know today. To live out the scripture "if today you will hear My voice." Now i strive to walk the narrow path one moment at a time in the manner He has prescribed. That is enough and as i do this i learn what trust is and He watches my tomorrows, and occasionally gives me a peek!
  I guess that is the main point i am trying (very clumsily) to get across in this study. Jesus said in Matthew 6:33 and 34  But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. Take therefore no thought for the morrow: for the morrow shall take thought for the things of itself. Sufficient unto the day is the evil thereof. If we do those things He has called us to we can be sure that whatever tomorrow brings we will have the necessary resources to handle it. If we are in the center of His will there is nothing that will move us.
 David said in Psalm 15 Lord, who shall abide in thy tabernacle? who shall dwell in thy holy hill? He that walketh uprightly, and worketh righteousness, and speaketh the truth in his heart. He that backbiteth not with his tongue, nor doeth evil to his neighbour, nor taketh up a reproach against his neighbour. In whose eyes a vile person is contemned; but he honoureth them that fear the Lord. He that sweareth to his own hurt, and changeth not. He that putteth not out his money to usury, nor taketh reward against the innocent. He that doeth these things shall never be moved.
 And in Psalm 46 it says; God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea; Though the waters thereof roar and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Selah. There is a river, the streams whereof shall make glad the city of God, the holy place of the tabernacles of the most High. God is in the midst of her; she shall not be moved: God shall help her, and that right early. The heathen raged, the kingdoms were moved: he uttered his voice, the earth melted. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah. Come, behold the works of the Lord, what desolations he hath made in the earth. He maketh wars to cease unto the end of the earth; he breaketh the bow, and cutteth the spear in sunder; he burneth the chariot in the fire. Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the heathen, I will be exalted in the earth. The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our refuge. Selah.
  Now if you ever read about David you may have noticed that he moved around a lot, from his youth to his later years he was constantly being harassed by everyone from a lion and bear to his father in law to his own son. He must be talking about something more permanent than location when he says that about not being moved. In Isaiah 26:3 and 4 it says Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee. Trust ye in the Lord for ever: for in the Lord Jehovah is everlasting strength: This is what David is talking about when he says he will not be moved. When you keep your mind on God and His word, nothing will move your heart from the confidence and trust you have in Him. In my life i have been in great danger with the peace of God in my heart and i have been in relative safety without it and i would rather be in the danger.
  This is how Jesus could be in a little boat in the middle of a storm and with 12 frantic disciples desperately trying to save the ship and Jesus is sound asleep!! When this peace rules your heart there is a trust that nothing will happen that is not the will of the Father. There is the confidence that if you are to pass from this life it will be best but if you must remain a simple word can calm the storm!!
 Brothers and sisters, we are in a storm, and it might be a bad one before it's over but the same God who saved the three Hebrew children from the fiery furnace, is the same God who brought the Israelis through the sea and then used it to destroy their enemies. The Same God who burned the sacrifice on Carmel when Elijah prayed, is the same God who brought and is still bringing the Jews back from all over the world to their own homeland once again JUST LIKE HE PROMISED THEM HE WOULD. He is a God who keeps His promises and He has promised He would save the righteous when the wicked are destroyed. While we may not know how long this storm will last or how the winds in it will blow at any one time, we can and MUST know that we have a God who can be trusted. If you didn't read part one for some reason, let me remind you that i am talking to those who are in Jesus and following His words.
    He said in John 14:15-27   If ye love me, keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever; Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you. I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you. Yet a little while, and the world seeth me no more; but ye see me: because I live, ye shall live also.  At that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. Judas saith unto him, not Iscariot, Lord, how is it that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my sayings: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's which sent me.  These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you. But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
  Let me add two more things here that the Lord has taught me. They are both very popular verses but perhaps you haven't heard this before so here goes. The first is half a verse found in Isaiah 59:19  When the enemy shall come in like a flood, the Spirit of the Lord shall lift up a standard against him. Now if you have been living this life very long you know that there are times when it seems like all of hell erupts at your doorstep. In these times there is nothing that will help better than the word. Remember when Jesus was being tempted, He used the word. Look at verse 26 of John 14 above,  But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. The word is our standard against the enemy and the Spirit is there to help you remember it at just the right time, trust Him more than you fear anything else. He will give you the right words at the right time and i can testify that the word of God is more powerful than any created thing including the devil and his demons. Sometimes these words will change your situation and sometimes they will change your perception of the situation.
 The second thing is this found in Isaiah 40:31 But they that wait upon the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk, and not faint.  That word for wait means this;
Strong's Ref. # 6960     Romanized  qavah   Pronounced kaw-vaw'
a primitive root; to bind together (perhaps by twisting), i.e. collect; (figuratively) to expect:
 The way the Spirit got it into this thick head is that those who get all wrapped up in the Lord shall renew their strength. So get wrapped up in Jesus and the word and renew your strength, once you realize how faithful He really is you will be filled with joy and the joy of the Lord is your strength!! Remember that this age is passing away but all that you have sent ahead will last forever.
  Until next week my friends may the Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make his face shine upon thee, and be gracious unto thee: The Lord lift up his countenance upon thee, and give thee peace.
