When Joseph came to Egypt they through his blessing became rich and were among the most powerful nations on earth by this time. They chose to enslave Israel the source of their blessing instead of learn about the source of Israel's blessing. When it came time for Israel to possess their land, if Pharaoh would have been able to let them go (i believe it was impossible for Pharaoh to let them go because of the way they had treated Israel until that time) Egypt would have remained powerful and rich. Since the Lord hardened Pharaoh's heart, he did not let them go until the land of Egypt was reduced to little more than the monuments built by Israel's slave labor. By the time Pharaoh died in the Red Sea, Egypt had no crops in the ground and no army to defend itself. They would rebuild but it would be 500 years before they would be a problem to Israel again.
This is how i look at these end days, the devil who steals our authority (because he has none of his own) by deception and fear is hearing "Moses" say LET MY PEOPLE GO" and refuses to because God has a greater victory in store for us than we can imagine and has hardened his heart. When those who get the victory over the beast and his image, mark and number of his name sing a song in Revelations 15;3 it is the song of Moses and the song of the Lamb. There is a song of Moses recorded in Exodus 15 that begins "I will sing unto the Lord for He hath triumphed gloriously: THE HORSE AND HIS RIDER HATH HE THROWN INTO THE SEA!"
